Editing

‘Where every word counts.’

Professional editing can make your book the best it can be, by improving the quality of your writing. It simply makes the reading experience better …

I am an Accredited Editor with the Institute of Professional Editors and a former managing editor at publishing companies in Australia and the UK, so you can be sure your manuscript will be edited to the highest level.

Whether you need developmental or structural editing, copy editing or proofreading, I can help.

What is developmental editing?

Developmental editing is concerned with the structure and content of your book. If your manuscript lacks focus, as your developmental editor, I will point out areas that can be restructured and tightened. Sometimes known as structural or substantive editing, it is about the ‘big picture’.

What is copy editing?

Copy editing, sometimes called line editing, involves improving the readability of your manuscript, ensuring it is free from error, inconsistency and repetition. It’s about making sure the words you have written are accurate, consistent and as clear as possible.

What is PROOFREADING?

Proofreading is the process of reviewing the final draft of your manuscript to ensure consistency and accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting.
